Rose Center for Earth and Space – Hall of Planet Earth
Client
American Museum of Natural History, New York City
Design Firm
Ralph Appelbaum Associates, New York City
Brief
To create a wide-reaching, innovative, informative and stylish permanent installation, telling the story of the history of the Earth. It had to have a clear visual hierarchy, using vast amounts of technical data and information, that would organise and engage a wide range of viewers.
Solution
A combination of colour, structure, form and arrangement was used to create consistent, understandable, and dramatic solutions. Zones were arranged to offer any viewer the option of absorbing small or large amounts of information, coming away entertained as well as having learned something.
